The Mind-Body Connection
In my work with children and adolescents I often rely on the powerful and proven connection between mental and physical health. Time and time again scientific research and life experience shows that healthy bodies lead to clear minds and conscious living and, vice versa, that low levels of stress and mastery of coping skills lead to longer, higher-quality lives.
I instruct kids and teens in: deep-breathing and imagery exercises coping skills healthy sleep and eating habits the benefits of exercise and the connection between thoughts, beliefs, emotions, and body changes (such as stomachaches and headaches)
