Parent Support Groups

Parent support group topics are set by parents themselves. Parents can attend alone or bring partners. I do not ask that you make a weekly commitment. The group focuses on whatever issues the parents want to discuss that week. Some issues covered in previous meetings are listed below.

  • How to help kids with homework – when to supervise and when to let go.
  • What to do about bedtime and how to promote healthy sleep patterns.
  • How to communicate effectively with school personnel.
  • Effective discipline.
  • TV, radio, internet, and homework – all at the same time?
  • Appropriate limits and privileges for teen dating.
  • How can I cope with my child’s attention problem?
  • How to help kids make and keep friends.
  • What to do when two parents disagree.
